Meet Pastor Brandon Dunham

Hello Harrisburg UMC!

I know a letter can really only say so much about a person, but I wanted to take a moment and share just a little bit about myself as we prepare to step into a new chapter of life together.

My name is Brandon Dunham and I am truly honored to have been approved to serve as the next Lead Pastor of Harrisburg United Methodist Church. My wife Ashley, an elementary art teacher, and I have been praying for you as you’ve walked this journey of discernment, and we are so blessed to have the opportunity to meet you all and discover more of what God is doing in your midst.

Prior to coming to Harrisburg I was the Director of Worship and Ministries at Watertown First UMC for three years before I was appointed to a two-point charge in Groton and Conde UMC’s in 2018 as a Locally Licensed Pastor. In the Fall of 2022 I began Seminary at Kairos University in Sioux Falls with hopes of graduating in Fall of 2024.

With a conviction that the local church is the hope of the world, I have dedicated my life to preaching the gospel and building disciples. I have found incredible joy and purpose in teaching the scriptures and love to try and creatively communicate its timeless truths in a relevant and culturally engaging way. And I see my role as a pastor as equipping the saints for the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-16).

I firmly believe that every person carries the image of God; Jesus is who he claimed to be; his resurrection from the dead changes everything; the Gospel is truly Good News; we can learn to be Jesus’ apprentices, and the Spirit of God changes people.

Have a blessed month of June, and we will see you all soon! In ministry together, Pastor Brandon Dunham
