A Word from Pastor Kyle - November ‘22

I hope I can find it. I know where I put it, but you know how it goes. I am looking for my Good Earth Journal. I got it from the Good Earth state park gift shop, and on the cover, it has the name of the park. It is under some papers and books; I see it! I didn’t know this, but I started to journal my thanks for each day in November 2019. I did it in 2020 and 2021, and I look forward to doing it again in 2022.

Psalm 136:1 says, “O Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” You may know that God is good, but what if someone asked you to give ten examples of God’s goodness? Could you list them? I believe there would be more than ten, but remembering them is hard because we don’t keep track of our moments. But what if you wrote down what you are thankful for each day? You would have thirty experiences of God’s goodness shown to you. That would be awesome.

I challenge you to buy a journal or a notebook and write down your thanks each day for the month of November. It will do wonders for your mental health and spiritual health. It will take five minutes of your time. Don’t overthink it. I see in my journal that I was thankful for sirloin steak one day and for voting another day. Let the Holy Spirit train you to see God’s goodness in your everyday life.

O Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever and can be seen in your daily life every day.
