The HUMC Youth Pastor is a Full Time Salaried Position. The Youth Pastor will provide leadership in the coordination and implementation of youth ministry programs and events while building relationships with youth and families.  The Youth Pastor will be a catalyst to connect and build relationships among students, parents, school administrators, and the church.  HUMC looks to enrich, partner, and encourage youth to foster a healthy relationship with Jesus through to adulthood.

Christ follower who attends and participates in the Harrisburg United Methodist Church.
Practices spiritual disciplines (daily prayers, Bible reading, accountability partner, discipleship, sharing the Gospel)
Ability to relate and work well with youth.
Ability to prioritize workload, work under pressure and achieve agreed upon goals
Superior written and verbal communication skills with interpersonal skills necessary to communicate courteously and effectively with a wide range of contacts
Experience in Program Development with a calling for youth ministry.
Ability to envision, design, create and implement a multifaceted Youth Ministry.
Familiarity or willingness to learn about the United Methodist Church.
Maintains working hours as determined by the needs of the ministry/position. Position requires 40+ hours a week, which will include evening and weekend hours serving youth. Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively to be a good steward of physical and financial resources.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for designing and implementing programs including, but not limited to: Weekly Youth Events (Sunday/Wednesday), Mission Trips, Local Mission events, Retreats, Summer Camp attendance, and Lock-ins for middle and high school students.
Understand the Wesley and Disciple Making Movement Models.
Oversee Collision activities at Harrisburg schools, including but not limited to, Collision Café, Connection Lunches, and various outreaches
Connecting and coordinating with school staff, church members, and community leaders in and near Harrisburg.
Responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting Volunteers for Youth Ministries.
Responsible for developing student leaders and for guiding and supporting the Youth Council. Model and train current and prospective students and adults to continually share vision, while inviting individuals to start a Disciple Making Movement group and share the Gospel  
Responsible for Youth Ministry Marketing and Communication to youth and parents through the website, email, social media, and text messaging.
Responsible for submitting a budget for youth ministries from funds in the operating budget.
Organize fundraising and maintain good stewardship of resources.
Engage regularly with youth and families outside scheduled programming including school, sports activities, and informal meet ups.
Provide care, guidance, and mentoring to youth while abiding by the Safe Sanctuary Policy.
Responsible for researching and selecting curriculum for middle school and high school youth to be used at Youth Sunday School and Confirmation Class.
Provide backup ministry in the absence of the HUMC Pastor a minimum of four Sundays per year.
Partner with the children’s ministry supervisor to execute Vacation Bible School and recruit volunteers.
Collaborate, support, and oversee Youth Music Program.
Attend weekly staff meetings, training and prayer as scheduled between Collision and HUMC.
