Sara Harris

Since becoming a Registered Nurse 15 years ago, I have witnessed how important the care of the Mind, Body and Spirit are to having optimal health.  Despite disease and illness I have seen and felt peace that only can come from God, peace that no illness or diagnosis can take away. God uses us to be his light in this dark world we can often find ourselves trapped in.  My love for God and love for his people is what motivates me to offer my services as a Faith Community Nurse at the Harrisburg United Methodist Church.

Currently I serve as a  volunteer Faith Community Nurse, affiliated with the Avera Parish Nurse Center. The Avera Parish Nurse Center keeps me in the loop of education and special programs happening throughout the community. I also have access to the Sanford Health Parish Nurse network and am blessed to have gotten to know some amazing people throughout the area in both health systems.  I also work part time as a RN at Avera McKennan Hospital in the Imaging Services department.

The current role of the Nurse at HUMC is Health Promotion, Health Education as well as Health Screenings and special events as requested. The Health & Wellness committee assists me in goals and vision for a healthy congregation-Mind, Body & Spirit!

If you are needing help in navigating the complex health system, need someone to attend an appointment with you or have health related questions-I am at your service. I may not have the answers, but will do my best to find out and help you along your path.  Please contact the church office or send me an email @ if I can assist you.

God’s love,                                                 heart

              Faith Community Nurse, RN BSN

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
